CTD receives SBIR Phase II Contract for High Production Rate Nanocomposite Film Capacitors
November 8, 2018
Composite Technology Development, Inc. of Lafayette, Colorado, was awarded a contract modification against a previously issued Department of the Navy Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) (N68335-19-C-0178). This Phase II SBIR, with potential value of $1 million, awarded by the Office of Naval Research – Naval Air Warfare Center will continue the development and commercialization of a variety of scalable, high-performance engineering polymers as high-temperature dielectric materials in capacitors to address challenges associated with generating strong magnetic fields in high temperature-applications, such as the electromagnetic railgun. It is expected to be completed by November 2020.
